This story conference dealt with the ALONE IN THE WOODS SEQUENCE, a continuation of the story conference they held 6-days prior, which transcript I posted two weeks ago.
In this session, they spent a lot of time working on actions and dialogue, trying to narrow down both to minimal (typical of their technique).
A lot of what they talked about in this conference made it into the film, especially if it was Walt doing the talking (no surprise here — he was not just a figurehead; he ran the show, nuts and bolts — reminds me of Elon Musk nowadays): I didn’t mean to frighten you; What do you do when things go wrong, sing?; Little bird voice cracks; Pet chipmunk, but it runs away; Can’t sleep underground or in a nest; Clothes get hooked, animals unhook; and The darkness spreading open with light.
There were a lot of good visual gags in this finished sequence, mostly the hidden eyes that reveal themselves (and a hidden turtle that reveals himself).
